The San Francisco Golden Gate National Recreation Area Fort Mason Meadow is a beautiful San Francisco outdoor wedding location available by permit.
The Great Meadow, at Fort Mason, is located adjacent to Bay and Marina Streets (across from the Marina Safeway). This large, open, landscaped area has native plant gardens and excellent views of the Golden Gate Bridge and hills of San Francisco.
|Of Note||The Great Meadow stands above Lower Fort Mason Center where former military buildings have been adapted into a center for low-cost public programs emphasizing performing arts, humanities, the environment, and recreation. The center is managed by the non-profit Fort Mason Foundation under an agreement with the National Park Service.|

|Directions||From Freeway 101 Traveling South or 19th Avenue/Highway 1 Traveling North: Follow signs for 101 South/Lombard Street. Follow Lombard Street to Van Ness Avenue and turn left. Follow Van Ness north until you reach Bay Street and turn left. The next intersection you reach will be Franklin Street. Turn right on Franklin Street into Fort Mason. From Freeway 80 Traveling West: Follow signs for Freeway 101 North/Golden Gate Bridge. You will exit onto Van Ness Avenue. Follow Van Ness Avenue several miles north until you reach Bay Street and turn left. The next intersection you reach will be Franklin Street. Turn right on Franklin Street into Fort Mason. Directions Continued: After entering Fort Mason, turn left onto Mc Arthur. At the end of Mc Arthur, veer left onto the service road that winds left behind the white, one-story building (Bldg. 101). Behind this building is a large parking area that is adjacent to the Great Meadow. Park in this lot and walk the red asphalt trail out onto the Great Meadow.
