Obtaining California Marriage License

Ease  Of Obtaining A California Marriage License

Getting a Marriage License in California for a ceremony in San Francisco, Half Moon Bay or any  location in California is as simple as filling out the paperwork in any County Clerk’s Office in California. A license is valid for use in any other county in California.

If you are coming out of the State of California you can be married in California, it’s not necessary to establish residence.  All you need to do is bring a valid photo ID for each of you to receive the marriage license. You will bring that license to your ceremony for the officiant to fill in and a witness to validate.

The two of you need to arrive a minimum of a day before your ceremony to get your license; in some counties you can make an appointment, otherwise just show up. It’s a good idea to check with their office though to be sure they are open for the day you plan to get your license.

Your license is valid for 90 days after you obtain it.  The officiant will mail it in after the ceremony and you can obtain a certified copy once the County Clerk’s Office has received it and

If you’re in the San Francisco Bay Area, here is a list of some of the County Clerk’s offices in the area.

Here Comes The Guide – Online and Print Wedding Resources

Written by Terry Plank on . Posted in Online Wedding Resources

Here Comes The Guide is one of the premier online and print wedding industry wedding resource directories for California, Chicago, and DC vendors and services.

But, it isn’t just a matter of paying money to be included in the directory. I had to pass through an extensive review process before being accepted. Certified by The Guide explains that “…each vendor has to submit 30-40 references, including wedding industry professionals and at least 15 recent brides…” I know for sure that they contact each person and get their honest feedback so only companies with a rave review are accepted.

Not only are Locations and Services provided with extensive photos and explanatory content, there are hundreds of articles on helpful topics relating to a wedding. They even have a Job Board for wedding and special events market in Northern and Southern California where one can post a job opening or find a job. There is also a very helpful Bookstore with books in 4 categories of interest, including their own Northern California Book.

For you wedding professionals interested in becoming a Here Comes The Guide resource, your acceptance gets you into both their Web and Printed Book. I receive more referrals from their Website than any other website source apart from my Google search engine keyword findability.

The newest Northern California Book printing is due for release January 2011. It can be found in bookstores, in Amazon, and can be ordered from their website.

Spend time on their site at Here Comes The Guide and see why I value this site.

Half Moon Bay Lodge – Lodging & Ceremony Location

Written by Terry Plank on . Posted in Ceremony Locations - Half Moon Bay Coastside, Lodging - Half Moon Bay Coastside

Half Moon Bay LodgeHalf Moon Bay Lodge, Best Western, is one of the quietest locations in the area for lodging in close proximity to a world class golf course, historic Half Moon Bay, beaches, a redwood grove with a spring-fed creek that runs year round, scores of excellent dining venues, and much more.

Rates are competitive for the area and they have a number of Packages with reduced rates: Unlimited Golf Stay & Play, Romantic Escape, Dinner & A Movie, Family Dinner and Movie, Eco Tour, Family Fun Picnic are a few.

I asked Minako Maki, the Conference Manager, to suggest three words she thinks most reflect the Lodge, I’ve been to the Lodge several times over the years so I agree with her answer: “intimate”, “charming”, and “personal”.

The Lodge is one of the few locations on the coast with a heated pool; they also have an oversized whirlpool spa, a dry sauna, a Fitness Center, and can make arrangements for a professional massage in your room for individuals and couples. They also have six meeting rooms that accommodate up to 60 people and have corporate rates for lodging if participants decide to stay over.

In addition to being a great location for guests attending wedding ceremonies on the San Mateo County Coastside, the Half Moon Bay Lodge is a lovely site for a wedding ceremony and reception for up to 50 guests.  “Experience our garden lawn setting with golf course views for your ceremony then celebrate in our dining room adjacent to our pool and charming patio.  We will take care of the details that go into making your wedding day flawless.”
