Half Moon Bay Online Directory – Coastside Live

Written by Terry Plank on . Posted in Resources - Half Moon Bay Coastside, Web Site Resources

There are many Coastside and online resources to find information when considering a visit, planning an event, standing on the street corner in Half Moon Bay looking for a location, or living here and trying to find a local service like an Insurance Agency.

Coastside Live is the easiest to use for locating Coastside business addresses and phone numbers, things are readily findable in Coastside Live.  Sites like the Coastside Half Moon Bay Chamber of Commerce and the Half Moon Bay Review include only members or advertisers, Yelp and the search engine’s “Local” sites take some digging if you don’t know exactly what you are searching for.  Coastside Live has everything in clear lists in each category; it’s easy to scan and get that address and phone number.

So, ease of finding “everything local” is the first advantage of Coastside Live.

Next, the home page has three clear sections showing, the Coastside Calendar, Weather/Surf Reports, and Web Cams to showing exactly what the day looks like.  As a local resident and a wedding vendor I find that Coastside Calendar especially handy  for finding entertainment every night of the week and for recommending to wedding clients things to do if they are spending some time here before or after their wedding. The owners of Coastside Live make it easy for companies to enter their own entertainment or local activity listings and they follow up with those who don’t so it stays current.

Finally, comprehensivenes is a real plus; by following menu links like Eat, Sleep, Play, Shop, Move, or Local Services you can find everything you might need. I counted over 60 categories in Local Services alone. New local businesses and service providers can submit their information to Coastside Live by contacting them at

A word to businesses, organizations, and activity providers; since Coastside Live has excellent search engine findability for all the major keyword searchers use to find Coastside services, paying for a link or advertising on the site is a no-brainer for low cost traffic generation. However, your listing is free, so get it in the directory if you don’t find it there.

Half Moon Bay – Repetto’s Florist

Written by Terry Plank on . Posted in Resources - Half Moon Bay Coastside

Repetto's Nursery

Your deposit is made for your location, photographer, officiant, perhaps a musician or two and a videographer.   Now it’s time to turn to accenting the beauty of the day with the beauty of nature, flowers.

Repetto’s Florist has been in business as a florist since 1973 and a nursery since 1959.  This family owned business of Augie Repetto, his son David and daughter in law Kathie provides excellent service and high quality flower flowers.

At Weddings By The Sea we use them for all our Intimate Ceremony Packages and the flowers have always been extra fresh and the flower arrangements stunning.  Speaking of freshness, in the summer David grows 90% of all their flowers on the property on the San Mateo County Coastside.  The rest of the year he is at the San Francisco Flower Market every morning at the crack of dawn.

Repetto’s can help you with all the needs you might have for flowers to bring color to the day and the beautify the occasion.  This probably starts with the bridal bouquet, attendant’s bouquet(s), and boutonnieres for the men.  And perhaps corsages for significant relatives like mothers and grandmothers.

Depending on the location of your ceremony, Repetto’s can assist with everything from altar arrangements to flower arbors, Unity Candle arrangements, ring pillow flowers, flower girl baskets, and even “Best Dog” floral collars.

Katie says, “We aim to work within everybody’s budget.”  This applies to all their services, but one unique service that no one else I know offers. You can do your own arrangements utilizing their 800 square foot wholesale cut flower area and then store them in their walk in cooler   If you buy your flowers from Repetto’s you can use the prep area at no charge; this can be a big money saver.

Along with the floral business on Highway 92, they also run a large Pumpkin Farm in October and a Christmas tree farm.

Visit them at 12331 San Mateo Rd, Half Moon Bay and at their website Repetto’s Florist. You can call them at  650-726-6414.

Best Regards,

California Wedding Location – Long Branch Saloon

Longbranch Church Wedding Location

Church Chapel

Last year we blogged about Long Branch Saloon & Farms wedding facility, since then Kevin Palmer and his family have taken everything to a whole new level, dismantling an old church and rebuilding it in their vintage western town near Half Moon Bay California.

For years, Kevin stockpiled redwood from old buildings he was tearing down for 20 years through his construction company, having no idea he’d use the great redwood and western items; until in 2005 he hit on the idea  of building a western town on land just south of Half Moon Bay. The town includes the following: western facades of a jail, dressmakers shop, feed n’ fuel, barbershop and a hotel; the original barn transformed into a saloon with authentic gambling tables and an enormous bar; a mercantile shop with western paraphernalia for sale.

Kevin says the town is “always evolving & growing”. The latest editions are The Grand Palace Parlor with the original bar from The Palace Hotel in San Francisco which survived the 1906 earthquake and the old western church that seats 80 people, opening out the back of the church to seat 200.

However, a wedding ceremony is not confined to just the church.  Ceremonies have been held above the saloon, inside the saloon, in a horse pasture, just about everywhere in the town. There have even been “theatrical weddings” where the officiant and the bridal party were decked out in western garb.  Long Branch can even provide a horse for the bride to ride up to the ceremony, a full casino night with dealers, two 20 x 20 tents, and much more.

Pricing varies depending on the services added to basic site fees, but the location price includes use of this unique old western town for the whole day, chairs, tables, and outdoor heaters if needed.  Kevin has a list of recommended and experienced vendors from caterers to florists and even has a special discount arrangement with the Half Moon Bay Lodge for discounted lodging for anyone involved with the wedding ceremony.

See lots of great photos of the location for weddings or other events at Long Branch Saloon & Farms.
